Freelance Role: Brand Production Designer

(Creative Director–Led)

Engagement Overview

We’re looking for a freelance Brand Production Designer to support a Creative Director on brand exploration and execution work. This role is focused on expanding, translating, and polishing an existing creative direction — not developing the core brand concept.

You’ll be stepping into a clearly defined visual system and helping make it feel real, expansive, and finished across multiple surfaces. This is ideal for designers who enjoy craft, execution, and working under strong creative direction.

1.Brand Application & Exploration

Using provided brand direction (logo, typography, color, layout logic, references), you’ll expand the system into exploratory applications, such as:

  1. Social media tiles and campaign concepts

  2. Partial website views (hero sections, landing fragments, feature blocks)

  3. Presentation or keynote slides

  4. Editorial-style layouts and visual brand moments

These are exploratory mockups, not strategic deliverables. The goal is to play out the system visually, not to redefine it.

2. High-End Mockup Integration

You’ll take approved designs and integrate them into premium mockups, including:

  1. Device and environmental mockups (desktop, mobile, tablet, signage, etc.)

  2. Clean perspective, scale, lighting, and realism

  3. Making concepts feel believable, shippable, and high-end

Strong attention to detail here is critical.

3. Brand Guide Assembly (as needed)

When required, you’ll help translate approved work into a brand guide by:

  1. Populating an existing brand guide template

  2. Ensuring consistency across logo, color, type, and layouts

  3. Supporting clarity and system accuracy

This is structured, production-focused work.

5. What This Role Is Not

To avoid mismatch:

  1. No brand discovery or positioning

  2. No logo or naming ideation

  3. No re-concepting the creative direction

  4. No strategy decks

Creative direction is provided. Your role is to execute and extend it with care and precision.

6. Who This Is For?

You’re likely a designer who:

  1. Has agency or in-house experience working under a Creative Director

  2. Enjoys refining and finishing work more than inventing concepts

  3. Is comfortable executing within a defined system

  4. Has strong layout, typography, and visual consistency skills

You value:

  1. Clear direction

  2. High standards

  3. Thoughtful feedback loops

  4. Craft over ego

7. Logistics

  1. Freelance, project-based or retainer-based

  2. Remote-friendly

  3. Start dates vary by project

  4. Consistent work available for the right fit
